Dear competitors and Kocian Violin Competition friends,
I deeply regret to have to inform you that Kocian Violin Competition 2020 will be cancelled.
After declaring a state of Emergency in the Czech Republic linked with spreading coronavirus, Ústí nad Orlicí Town Council made the decision to cancel 62nd Kocian Violin Competition and 15th Kocian Ústí Music Festival.
The organization team priority No. 1 is health of all competitors, judges, organizers and assistants. No one is able to predict the sequence of events but all world violinists are not likely to meet and play in May, which would influence the high level and competition reputation. The change of term does not seem to be convenient either.
Dear competitors, you have managed to get ready for this year event. You will deserve to get a prize. So do come and get it next year.
Dear teachers, thank you for careful leadership of your students.
Dear parents, thank you for your support and background for your little ”musicians.”
