I would like to announce to all the fans of Jaroslav Kocian that we have received 44 applications for the 64th Kocian Violin Competition, of which 19 violinists are from the Czech Republic. The remaining 25 international young artists represent a total of 14 countries from all over the world. It is wonderful that neither covid nor war conflict can deter violinists from meeting on such a festive occasion as the Kocian Violin Competition. It is therefore an honour to welcome violinists from Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Norway, Lithuania, the United Arab Emirates, Japan and traditionally a large delegation from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. I wish all the violinists and teachers the best of luck in their preparation and I firmly believe that we will meet in the safe city of Ústí nad Orlicí in May.
