A celebration of love and music. With record Mongolian participation

02. 05. 2024

We will hear sixty competitors from thirteen countries at this year’s Kocian Competition. “I am very pleased with the international interest in this wonderful event. I want us to form the Kocian violin family together,” said Pavel Šporcl. The town’s mayor, Petr Hájek, was also present, traditionally. “Be at home here in Ústí nad Orlicí. I believe the friendly atmosphere will last throughout the competition,” greeted those present.

Even before the first note of the competition, it was clear that this year’s Kocianka would be exceptional in at least one aspect. The Mongolian team completely matched the fifteen Czech applications! And the day before the opening ceremony, the school was already full of smiling Mongolian faces!

In recent years, Mongolian competitors have been successful, and the laureate dream of many tiny violinists could one day become a reality… Who knows, maybe soon.
