Oblačno a devět stupňů, počasí spíš na kabát. Co ale mohlo přítomné zahřát, bylo svižné provedení Mozartova Divertimenta klarinetovým triem – Matěj Morávek, Lucie Morávková a Sára Šumová stylově zahájili již 65. ročník Kocianky! Překonat složité období se pořadatelům podařilo a mezinárodní soutěži loni navrátili její standardní podobu. A nyní jistě chtějí na předešlý vyda
řený ročník navázat. Předpoklady k tomu rozhodně mají: téměř padesát přihlášených, vedle dvaceti českých houslistů budou o laureátský titul usilovat zástupci dalších čtrnácti zemí. Mezinárodní punc dává soutěži i odborná porota se zástupci Německa, Srbska a Izraele. „Chtěl bych vás poprosit, abyste zohlednili fakt, že hodnotíte děti. Prosím o určitou shovívavost, abychom tady viděli pouze slzy radosti,“ obrátil se k porotcům během zahájení starosta města Petr Hájek.
Kocianovy následovníky i jejich doprovod pozdravila rovněž ředitelka soutěže Lenka Lipenská. „Vy všichni dohromady jste rodinou, která se jmenuje Kocianova houslová soutěž. A jste tu zcela správně, protože začíná 65. ročník soutěže pro mimořádně talentované děti,“ připomněla špičkovou úroveň klání.
Sedmičlenná porota pracuje proti loňskému roku ve výrazně obměněném složení, co se nemění, je osoba jejího předsedy – Pavla Šporcla. Nedávno padesátiletý virtuos má za sebou pondělní zahajovací koncert a před sebou hodnocení soutěžních výkonů.
„Letos budeme hodně slavit. 140. výročí narození Mistra Kociana a 65. výročí soutěže. Jedná se o nejstarší soutěž pro děti do 16 let na celém světě! Máme skutečně mezinárodní složení i porotu a mohu vám slíbit, že objektivita hodnocení je stoprocentně zaručena,“ ubezpečil v závěru ceremoniálu.

Kocian’s Jubilee: 65th Competition Year Starts
The weather is cloudy and chilly, better bring your coats. The spectators were warmed by a swift performance of Mozart’s Divertimento by a clarinet trio; Matěj Morávek, Lucie Morávková and Sára Šumová opened the 65th Kocianka with style! After some hard years, the organizers managed to restore the international competition to its former self. Now, they surely want to continue the success from last year. The conditions are promising: we have nearly 50 competitors. Apart from 20 Czech violinists, contestants from a total of 14 foreign countries will join the race for the laureate title. The jury, consisting of Czech, German, Serbian and Israelian members, uplifts the international spirit as well. “I would like to remind you that it is children who are being judged here. Please, be mindful, so that the only tears we see here are the tears of joy,” commented the city mayor Petr Hájek in his speech.
The director of the competition, Lenka Lipenská, joined in the welcoming of Kocian’s followers: “You all are a family here, a family called Kocian Violin Competition. And you are in the right place because today marks the beginning of the 65th year of exceptionally talented children competition.”
The jury of 7 members has seen some changes this year, however, its chairman remains – Pavel Šporcl. He recently celebrated his 50th birthday and after the Monday opening concert, it is now his duty to evaluate the competitors.
“This year, we celebrate the 140th anniversary of the birth of Jaroslav Kocian and also the 65th anniversary of the competition. It is the oldest competition for children up to 16 years of age in the world! We have international participants and jury, and I c
an promise you that we will be completely objective,” he promised at the end.
